This totally easy & super delicious Vegan Fudge Recipe is perfect for vegans and people allergic to dairy!
I love fudge! However, because I’m allergic to dairy I though most fudge was out of the question..until now. I’ve come up with a delicious vegan (& so it’s dairy free) fudge recipe that is sure to please everyone. This fudge is made without sweetened condensed milk…which has become pretty standard in the majority of fudge recipes these days.

Vegan Fudge Recipe
This totally easy and super delicious Vegan Fudge Recipe is perfect for vegans and people allergic to dairy!
Ingredients
- 13 oz. coconut milk
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (vegan)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat coconut milk in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Place chocolate chips in a large glass bowl and pour warm coconut milk over the chocolate. Let sit for 30 seconds-1 minute. Stir mixture until the chocolate is fully melted and incorporated with the milk. Add vanilla, salt, and chopped nuts.
- Pour into an 8x8 baking dish that has been lined with parchment paper or foil. Place in refrigerator for several hours to firm. Once firm, remove from pan and cut into 16 pieces.
- Note: If it seems like it won't set up, add an additional cup of chocolate chips or some powdered sugar to help thicken it up.

Mine would not become firm enough to call fudge. I froze it and will use is as a frosting/icing at later date.

I tried making this last night, but it’s still not setting fully. Do you know if it’s a lost batch or if it can it be melted back down and powdered sugar added to it to thicken it up some?

Oh no! I’m so sorry it didn’t work out. Don’t dump it, turn it into truffles. Scoop it out and roll into little balls and coat in powdered sugar, cocoa, coconut, nuts, or sprinkles.

An approximate weight for the chocolate chips would be 680 grams, or 24 ounces depending on what unit of weight the chocolate bar is measured by. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi Kim!
I think a standard 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips is approx 2 cups… so my guesstimate is that 3 cups of chocolate chips would be about 18 ounces.

I have also heard there is now Sweetened Condensed Soy Milk & Evaporated Soy Milk.

As long as you are using the canned coconut milk and not the stuff in a carton for drinking, then it shouldn’t be an issue. w-

Hi Tyranny, I don’t think it would work since I was using the canned coconut milk. The only think I could think of is that it might work if you made your own “sweetened condensed milk” with rice or almond milk. w-
